I will be sharing something each day covering the alphabet until I reach Z! So, in the 26 days it takes to get through the alphabet, I will be sharing topics having to do with sex, BDSM and/or kink. It will be something I am curious about, love to know more about or just love to share.
If you have anything to add or have something else in that alphabet letter to share, please do so in the comments below.
Today’s sexy letter of the alphabet is:
Electro-sex is the use of electricity for erotic pleasure. This is typically done using sex toys specifically designed for electro-sex. Electro-sex stimulates the body’s nervous system to produce intense sensations.
The practice of electro-sex originally began within the BDSM community where it was used to enhance medical and pain play scenes. However, the practice is now becoming widespread among vanilla couples looking to spice up their sex lives.
Electro-sex is sometimes called erotic electrostimulation (e-stim) or electroplay.
Erotic electrostimulation (abbreviated e-stim and also known as electrosex) is a sexual practice involving the application of electrical stimulation to the nerves of the body, with particular emphasis on the genitals, using a power source (such as a TENS, EMS, Violet wand, or made-for-play units) for purposes of sexual stimulation. Electrostimulation has been associated with BDSM activities, and erotic electrostimulation is an evolution of that practice.
*Some of the various items used for Electro-Sex I never realized were used for it until I started looking into the Electrostim. I was introduced to the Electrostim at Eroticon this year and impressed by the multitude of products they have to offer to use with the Electrostim for your pleasure needs.
The following are several devices that have been used for electrostimulation and erotic stimulation needs.
Some items used for Electrostimulation in Electro-Sex:
- Tens-Unit –Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS or TNS) is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. (Wikipedia)
- EMS – Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), also known as neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) or electromyostimulation, is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses. (Wikipedia)
- Violet Wand – Violet wands were originally electric and neon testers, but are now split into two types: mechanical (Tesla Coil), and solid-state wands. They are used for the application of low current, high voltage (min 35 kV to max 65 kV typically), high-frequency electricity to the body, as such they are most commonly used in BDSM though erotic sensation play. Violet wands can deliver a variety of sharp, cutting, or piercing type sensations. (Wikipedia)
- Electrostim – ElectraStim products are not medical devices with some imaginative accessories. Each ElectraStim stimulator and electrode has been designed in the UK especially for intimate erotic stimulation. From the patterns and functions programmed into our various stimulation units to the specialist shapes, sizes and styles of electrodes, our products are specialist sex toys. It is not recommended you use a TENS unit or similar for erotic stimulation. Likewise, we do not recommend ElectraStim for medical use. (Electrostim)
So, look into this if you are interested in something new to spice up your sexual pleasure. Always fun trying something new! AND, I suggest that you do your research in anything new you try. 😉
If you have used these products, what do you feel is the best one and what is the difference in the ones you used? I would love to know!!
See you tomorrow for the Letter F!
